How to get your data

There are two kinds of file Playlist Pulse can read. Here's how to get each one.

Instant

๐ŸŽต Playlist CSV

A CSV of any playlist โ€” perfect for the Playlist CSV mode. You get it in seconds using a free tool called Exportify.

  1. Go to exportify.net and log in with Spotify (it only asks for read access).
  2. Find the playlist you want and click Export next to it.
  3. A .csv file downloads to your device.
  4. Open Playlist CSV here and drop the file in.

Tip: Exportify includes audio features like tempo and popularity, which unlock the BPM, mood and "obscure finds" stats.

Takes a few days

๐Ÿ“Š Listening History JSON

Your full streaming history โ€” used by the Listening History and Multi-File modes. Spotify prepares this for you and emails it, which usually takes a few days, so request it ahead of time.

  1. Go to your Spotify Privacy settings and scroll to "Download your data".
  2. Tick Extended streaming history (this has the detail Playlist Pulse uses โ€” not just the basic account data).
  3. Click Request data and confirm via the email Spotify sends.
  4. Wait for the follow-up email โ€” this often takes a few days, sometimes up to 30.
  5. Download and unzip the file. Inside you'll find one or more Streaming_History_Audio_*.json files.
  6. Drop a single file into Listening History, or several at once into Multi-File for your full picture.

Heads up: "Extended streaming history" is different from the basic "Account data" option, which doesn't contain enough detail. Make sure you pick the extended one.
